Chad which got it's name from Lake Chad, the fourth largest lake in Africa, is a landlocked country found in north-central Africa and is bordered by Niger, Libya, Sudan, Central African Republic, Cameroon and Nigeria. The official languages are French and Arabic which are spoken by approximately 10,238,807 people.

Chad's capital N'Djamena is a great place to visit with the Central Market brimming with Chadian jewellery ansd rugs and the National Museum which has artifacts from as far back as the ninth century. Lake Chad is also a highlight and is best seen between August and December when the water level is at it's highest.

The annual rainfall is much less in the northern regions. December through to February are the best months to visit with average temperatures of 35 degrees, while from March onwards it starts to heat up with average tempertures of 38+ degrees.

The total measurement of Chad is 1,284 square kilometres. The flag of Chad is Blue, Yellow and Red, the blue stands for hope and sky, yellow is for the sun and red is for the unity of the nation.
