Chattanooga which has been inhabited since as far back as 900 AD by the Native American Indians can be found within the state of Tennessee. Chattanooga is home to over 169,000 residents and is in fact the fourth largest city in the state.

Chattanooga can be found within Hamilton County. Just over eight miles away from Chattanooga is the Tennessee River which flows for approximately 652 miles within the Tennessee Valley.

While you are visiting Chattanooga be sure to visit the local art gallery which is known as the Hunter Museum of American Art. The architecture of this building is of particular interest and is ideally built along the Tennessee River. One of Chattanooga's historical monuments is listed amongst the National Records of Historical Places. Built in 1922 and known as the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium. The auditorium features two theatres and is still in use today.

If you are a fan of wildlife then a trip to the Tennessee Aquarium will definitely be worth the trip and is home many different sea creatures such as sharks, penguin's and cuttlefish. Held each June is the city's Riverbend Festival which continues for nine days and draw crowds from all over the nation.

Getting to Chattanooga is easy with the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport being located just over twelve miles away from the city.
