General Information about Kruger National Park

Found just north of Zimbabwe is South Africa's massive game reserve known as the Kruger National Park. Often considered to be one of South Africa's most visited tourist attractions the Kruger National Park is approximately 18,989 square metres in size and is set in two provinces which are Mpumalanga and Limpopo. There are many tours available to Kruger National Park with many departing from Johannesburg and Hoedspruit.

Visiting Kruger National Park is a great way to learn about South Africa local wildlife as the park is home to elephants, zebras, hippopotamus's and also features a crocodile camp. Kruger National Park is also home to lions, rhinoceros, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes, as well as many variety's of birds, moths and butterfly's. Escape for these animals out of the park is virtually impossible as the park features a 800 kilometre long fence.

Camping at Kruger National Park is a popular activity, with a many campsites being located near a variety of amenities. Some of the parks main camp sites are known as Letaba, Lower Sabie, and Olifants. The main points of entry into the park is through the Paul Kruger Gate and the Numbi Gate.
