General Information about Islamabad

Pakistan's capital of Islamabad can be found south of the Margalla Hills along the Pothohar Plateau. The original capital of Pakistan was Karachi but it was decided that the location of Islamabad was safer from foreign attack. Islamabad is now home to over 805,000 people and is a very peaceful city which makes it the ideal place to visit.

There are many museums and art gallery's to visit while you are at Islamabad as well as some relaxing gardens and parks. Visiting Islamabad's popular lookout of Daman-e-Koh is the ideal way to catch a glimpse of the entire city. While you are there you can even stop for a meal at the local restaurant up there.

While you are at Islamabad you can experience the outdoors of the city through a wide range of activities. You can try your hand a fishing, do a spot of hiking in the Margalla Hills or for the more adventurous para gliding.
