General Information about Alofi

Found in the Pacific ocean Niue's main town of Alofi is home to just under one thousand people. Alofi is the ideal place to visit to relax and getaway from the daily grind of everyday life. English is spoken freely by many people although you will notice the Niuean language being spoken.

The international airport is conveniently situated just five kilometres south of Alofi and getting to your accommodation is easy with a choice of shuttle buses. There are plenty of outdoor activities to keep you busy at Alofi ranging from snorkelling to diving to fishing. There is also a possibility of viewing dolphins and whales.

One of the best way to see some of the beautiful surroundings of Alofi is by hiring a bike for the day. There are a few stores in Alofi where you will be able to purchase a hand crafted souvenir to take home. Be sure to check out some of Alofi's woven products as Niuean weaving is of superior grade and is thought to be the best in the Pacific.
