General Information about Mezunte

If your seeking a relaxing holiday way from reality then your trip to Mazunte will be just that. The small village of Mazunte is home to approximately seven hundred residents and is ideally located along the shoreline of the Pacific Ocean. Found within the state known as Oaxaca, Mezunte features two rocky outcrop beaches.

Many visitors head straight for the locals beach known as Rinconcito which is often filled with local boats and swimmers. For those budding photographers a trip to the second beach of Punta Cometa will be a delightful experience at sunset. Mezunte is also well known for its turtle population and is here that you will find the National Mexican Turtle Centre, known locally as Centro Mexicano de la Tortuga.

There are no direct flights that travel to Mezunte, however the closest airport can be found at the nearby Puerto Escondido and Huatulco. Catching a taxi to Mezunte from Puerto Escondido or Huatulco is simple and affordable.
