General Information about Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur which is the capital city of Malaysia and can be found near the Klang Valley which is near the Titiwangsa Mountains along the west coast Peninsula of Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur was established back in 1850 and is home to approximately 7 million people. Kuala Lumpur is a popular travel destination and is also a popular international shopping destination.

There is so much to see while you are at Kuala Lumpur and one of the first places you should visit is the Golden Triangle. This is the best place to visit for shopping and is also near the Petronas Twin Towers. The Petronas Twin Towers were the tallest buildings in the world and offer some interesting views of the city. If you are a big kid at heart then Cosmo's World which is Malaysia's largest indoor theme park should not be missed.

Visiting Kuala Lumpur's city centre will allow you to visit some of Kuala Lumpur's historical buildings and museums. Be sure to check out the Jamek Mosque which dates back to 1909. The National Museum and the Islamic Arts Museum are one of the best ways to learn about the city's history.

If you are a lover of fine food then go no further as one of Kuala Lumpur's passions is food. There are many restaurants to choose from with the Golden Triangle and Chinatown being some of the most popular places to dine out. Kuala Lumpur has a strong coffee shop scene.
