Jamaica is divided in to three counties and has an estimated population of 2,780,000 people. Kingston, the capital and largest city of Jamaica is located on Jamaica's southeastern coast and has a population of around 660,000 people. Roman Catholic, Seventh-Day Adventist, Pentecostal, Baptist, Anglican and other Christian religions are the most commonly followed by the Jamacian people. The official religion spoken in Jamaica is English.
Kingston has many clubs and attractions such as the Bob Marley museum, Hope Zoo, Hope Botanical Gardens (the largest in the Caribbean) and the Port Royal area which was a popular spot for pirates in the 17th century. The St James Parish Church at Montego Bay is another popular place to visit. This is one of the grandest churches in Jamaica and was originally built between 1775 and 1782. After the earthquake in 1957 this church has to be restored. The main towns of Jamaica are Kingston, Portmore, Spanish Town, Mandeville, Ocho Rios, Port Antonio and Montego Bay. Along the south coast of Jamaica are many low islands, cays and reefs with Port Royal Cays being one of the well known cays. The lowest point of Jamaica is the Caribbean Sea at sea level. The agricultural industry employs over 17 percent of the population while only contributing five percent of the population. The main agricultural produces of Jamaica are sugarcane, bananas, coffee, citrus, sweet potatoes just to name a few. The industry sector is also important to the economy with the main trades including tourism, bauxite, alumina, agro processing, light manufactures, rum, cement, metal and paper.
