India's capital city is New Delhi situated in India's north but Mumbai on India's western coast is the country's largest city.
The Taj Mahal is India's most famous landmark. The Taj Mahal is a white marble Mughal mausoleum which was completed in 1648 and was built in Agra under Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan reign in memory of his second wife who died in 1631. March through to June are the best months to visit as these are the driest and warmest months with average temperatures of 32 degrees, with a hot wind occuring in the northern parts. However in the west of India temperatures can be higher. Winters are mild lasting from December to February with averages of 15 degrees and lows of zero in the northern ranges. Visiting from June to September should be taken with care as this is the Advancing Monsoon season which brings heavy rainfalls. EconomyLearn About The Economy In IndiaIndia's economy revolves mainly around the service industry which contributes over 48 percent of the economy. The agricultural industry employs more than half of the population while only contributing 23.6 percent. The unemployment rate is considerably low with only 9.2 percent recorded back in 2004. India's main exports are mainly textile goods, gems and jewelry, engineering goods, and chemicals. India is only 54.2 percent free financially and is the world's 115th freest economy since 2007.
